I have had the honor and privilege serving as your City Commissioner since 2018, working to make Pompano Beach the best place to be in South Florida. We are in the middle of a Renaissance here with a lot of very exciting pieces still coming into place. I am determined to continue the great work we have started. For me, it’s about creating the right balance of home choice for families, work and job opportunities, transportation options, and community activities creating a solid and well-balanced sense of belonging for our residents and visitors.
For the 2025 budget, I was able to propose and pass a tax rate millage decrease for the first time since 2017. This was achievable due to the increase in valuation that has come from the smart and strategic developments of the past few years. I strongly believe that it is the responsibility of the city to show our residents a return on their investments so they can individually benefit from the improvements we have made. I am committed to working to make this year’s decrease into a trend.

In every thriving beach community, development is a top issue. For years Pompano had a reputation of resisting growth. I remember when I first started in real estate development, one of my mentors told me: “change is inevitable, you either control it or it controls you”. Pompano has had the benefit of learning from both the good and the bad choices other cities have made in their respective stages of growth. As we make decisions for our city, it is important to remain focused on the big picture: creating quality housing and job opportunities throughout the city while also providing entertainment, cultural and quality-of-life options as we weigh each proposed project. Simultaneously, it is necessary to remain vigilant while maintaining and improving our infrastructure to provide for the needs of our residents and businesses. I personally take the time to meet with developers and residents to discuss potential projects, making sure each is the best it can be for our city.
Transportation is a huge challenge and opportunity. As we grow, more people need to get around. I have been working with city, county, state and federal level officials to develop and expand our mass transportation options. I also serve as our representative to and on the Executive Board of the Broward MPO.
Pompano Beach is very exciting

Pompano Beach is very exciting in this respect, geographically. The way our city is laid out more readily lends itself to public transportation options than many other cities. I am excitedly looking forward to making the day-to-day use of mass transportation and pedestrian-friendly options commonplace here in Pompano Beach. We had a big win in July's commission meeting when the commission voted to bring in a golf cart looping service to District 1. This is a service that I have been working for since my first day in office, so I am very excited to see it come to life.

We’ve done some great work with our dune restoration program, reinforcing and maintaining our coastline. We are at the top of the list for beach renourishment by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the north end of our beach. Shipwreck Park and the new Wahoo Bay have put our reef system on the map for snorkeling and SCUBA divers. Taking care of our ocean and beaches will be an imperative for me as long as I live.
